review date: february 16, 2024 customer service date: january 27, 2024 i was in the market for an under armour winter hat, as a gift for a friend's daughter. hr lash (HRL) came up on a google search, and it was smooth sailing after that. given that it was a saturday afternoon, i phoned the store to ask a few questions about shipping. i was greeted by the owner, herb lash. he was very friendly, personable and answered my questions in full detail. he wasn't in a rush, yet was efficient in handling the phone call. even though my order was tiny, he treated me as if i was spending hundreds of dollars. herb provided great customer service that is few and far between these days with companies. ⭐ website for the most part was straightforward to navigate and use. only suggestion i would make is for HRL to indicate who they actually use as a shipping provider (it's canada post) so folks can prepare accordingly. i prefer NOT to have product delivered to my house because of past theft issues. so it's great when websites offer canada post (i can then ship orders to the post office for peace of mind) or major couriers (purolator, UPS, fedex) that have drop-off locations in case i am not home. i punched in the order same day, and the hat got shipped out monday from sault-ste marie, and reached my hands (in hamilton) on a wednesday. the hat arrived in proper condition and was as described. the hat as a gift was well received and appreciated by my friend's daughter. pricing was fair, and the discount provided, helped finance the shipping cost, which in itself was fair also. it's nice when the opportunity allows, to buy from and support an ontario-based business. sometimes HRL has sales, so folks can enjoy some deals on the company's offerings. HRL has been around for over 100 years, and they should be around for a good while yet, with how they focus on trying to treat customers fair. bottom line: i would look at HRL again if i was in the market for items that they carry. i would recommend others to shop or at least consider HRL as a clothing store of choice also. 👍🏼 update 👀 february 16, 2024: herb responded to my e-mail this morning, and has added canada post as a defined shipping option on the website. this is excellent; so that customers can get orders shipped to their property or to the post office.

Another wonderful experience at HR Lash. I had purchased a pair of shoes that ended up being a little too big for me. Herb Lash gladly exchanged the shoes without a problem. Great customer service. HR Lash came though BIG TIME the day before my wedding. Moore’s informed us the DAY BEFORE that my best man’s suit was not going to be in on time, and did not have anything close to the rest of my groomsmen, as we didn't want him standing out in all of the pictures or being confused for me, the groom. We went to HR Lash right before close and the man there was fantastic. We fixed me and my best man up with amazing suits, brought them to the cleaners himself, got them to emergency hem them and get them ready for the next day, AND even delivered them to my best man’s house himself. Amazing 5-star quality service, and I recommend everyone goes there if they need any suits or service. You can’t beat local!!!

Unbelievable experience with the workers at this business. Can’t thank them enough for what they did for our wedding party. We originally went to Moore’s on great northern for our suits, after we found out the best man wasn’t going to get his in time even though it was ordered months in advance we hopped over to this place and the customer service was impeccable. We were able to get a very similar suit for a good price, got it tailored the night before the wedding and the owner himself dropped it off at the best mans house the morning of the wedding day. Thank you guys so much for going above and beyond what most businesses would do for its customers. We can’t possibly show how much we appreciate it. Could not recommend a better place.

The staff at HR Lash are outstanding. I rented suits here for my wedding party, with 8 of the 9 guys coming in from out of town and arriving just a day or two before the wedding. All of the suits fit perfectly and looked amazing. There was genius level work done to ensure that extra suit pieces were available if items needed to be switched out at the last minute. I can’t say enough about the attention to detail and precision involved! Five stars does not begin to do their work justice. Far above and beyond what anyone could expect!! To say the service at H.R. Lash is outstanding is an understatement. I found out I wasn't able to get my tux 1 DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING! As the best man in the wedding that could have been horrible but Herb and the staff at H.R. Lash fitted the groom and myself for a new suit less than 24 hours before the wedding, had the alterations done and even delivered it to my door with hours to spare. Truely amazing efforts by such a thoughtful business. You couldn't tell that the groom and I have different suits! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND H.R. LASH!! Thank you for making my best friends wedding the night of his life!

I arrived in the Soo from out of town for a funeral having forgotten to pack a shirt. H.R. Lash could not have been more helpful. They made sure that I got a nice shirt that fit and steamed it to make sure it was ok to be worn immediately. If I lived in Sault Ste Marie I would buy all my clothes here.

Best men’s clothing shop in the Sault, hands down. I’ve been buying nice clothing, business suits, shoes, coats etc here for decades. Herb and now Herb Jr are excellent and always willing to take their time time to help you with what ever you need. Even have everything tailored for you on a rush service when needed. It’s actually one of the best ones I’ve been to period, including all of North America and Europe.

HR Lash is fantastic! Incredible customer service. I called 78 stores in North America looking for a specific Canada Goose jacket for my wife and the owner, Herb, was the only person on the continent that went out of his way to help. Even the Canada Goose corporate store in Toronto was unwilling to help. I live almost 600 kilometres away and he helped me as if I was a friend and frequent customer. Bought a leather coat from them a year or so ago, good customer service. However I just called them asking about coat repair as I had managed to tear the leather, and the person who answered could barely wait to get me off the line. They weren't in the least bit interested and I didn't even have time to explain that I had purchased the coat from them before the guy hung up. Absolutely shocking to be honest.

FANTASTIC customer service! Went with my boyfriend to pick out some polished pieces for a formal event. Herb was able to to make some ace recommendations, and he had an incredible eye for detail. My boyfriend has seriously never owned a more well-fitting and slick looking dress shirt! He claims the dress shoes Herb recommended are the best he's ever owned. My boyfriend got tonnes of compliments at the event, and he how has several high-quality pieces in his wardrobe that he will wear again and again. Herb, we will be seeing you MANY more times! Having a wedding this weekend and thank god for hr lash. Most people in the wedding party rented their suits through tip top tailors but 2 went with hr lash. I had to get fitted twice at tip top (thanks to the owner of hr lash for catching the messed up measurements), had the wrong pocket square ordered form tip top (which hr lash also caught), and tip top didn’t order shoes for one of the people in the party (which hr lash saved the day again by ordering the shoes for the person even though they had ordered the suit from tip top). Huge thanks to hr lash for saving the day and making sure everyone matched and looked their best! Def going with hr lash if I need to rent a suit again. Thanks hr lash!
